The Epicureans of Clay.
01
We are Epicureans of Clay—devoted to the quiet ritual of making. In a world that moves too fast and thinks too loud, we return to what is elemental. Clay slows the hands, steadies the breath, and restores attention to the present moment. It is not merely a material, but a companion: receptive, resistant, alive. Through touch, pressure, and patience, we rediscover pleasure not as excess, but as depth—an Epicurean joy rooted in presence, balance, and care.

Classes are taught by me, Leon Potgieter (aka Leon Potterbakker). With years of ceramic experience—from functional ware to sculptural techniques—I’ll help you bring your ideas to life.
I believe clay revitalises the human spirit by reconnecting us with the universe's oldest energy: the life-giving force of Mother Earth. When we work the clay, we enter a timeless exchange—body to earth, intention to matter. This is a ritual of remembrance. The soil remembers us, and we remember ourselves. In shaping clay, we are shaped in return—grounded, restored, and quietly transformed.
